Who we are
Art By Donation is a fundraising group promoting local artists and local non-profit organizations. Currently our products consist of digital downloads and select prints, but as we grow we hope to offer more physical products such as t-shirts, greeting cards, and more.
We provide artists with a platform to sell their art and receive a percentage of the profits, and support charitable organizations within our communities by donating 25% of all sales. We have membership options for our artists to allow for more personalization and control over what and how they sell, as well as to allow us to give more profit back to them.
We believe in bettering the community through collaboration and creative expression. Many of the pieces we sell are related to the groups we support, but artists are not limited to any one subject.
Patrons may donate directly to a particular artist or charity from our Donate Page in which they receive 100%.
FAQs
Why is there a “minimum cost” if you take donations?
As much as we would love to send 100% of our proceeds to our selected charities and organizations, the reality is that everything costs money. In order to continue our support of others we do need to have funds available for our operating and material costs.
The minimum price ensures that our costs are covered and our artists and charities get something, even without additional donations. The more we grow and expand the smaller that cost will be and make more available to go directly to those we support.
How much do you donate?
100% of donations goes to your selected charity if done through our Donate Page. 25% of all sales are donated to your selected charity, with up to 50% going to the artist. In order for us to cover our operating costs, we do need to keep some of the profits. All money that is kept goes into growing our business and is not for personal gain.
Why do artists have to pay?
There is a free option for artist purely looking to have a place to sell their work, though at a smaller percentage of profit (15%). Artist memberships allow us to offset operational costs and give more back. We need to keep ourselves open and able to provide more opportunities to artists and our customers whether that is a wider range of products, gallery shows, or fundraising events.
Any money that Art By Donation keeps is going right back into making us better, stronger, and bigger - nothing is used for personal gain or benefit..
What is the point?
Art By Donation is not about making anyone rich, or even about maximizing profit. Our sole goal is to create a difference in the lives of those around us by supporting the organizations that support our communities. Without community, we are nothing. It seems especially noticeable now with everything at our fingertips, as we can lose sight of what it is to be a part of something bigger than ourselves - what it is to care about others, give because we want to, and share our knowledge or success.
We want to leave the world a better place than we found it, instead of taking even more than it has already given us.

Our Goals for the Future
Art By Donation hopes to grow and become something that can make a change to the community and the people that work hard to better it.

As we grow our sales numbers and team of artists, the cost of operating significantly decreases allowing us to give more back to the community and artists.

Whether its becoming a vendor at local markets, or hosting our own fundraising and awareness events, we would love to interact with people and make lasting connections in our communities. Not only for the good of charitable organizations, but to support and promote our artists as well.

Eventually we hope to have enough capital to invest in a physical location for patrons to browse art in a gallery style. If artists are able to display their pieces at a larger scale, or even sell originals, we will be able to give more to our charities and to the artists themselves.
